Alloy High Protein High Digestibility (HPHD) System
When it comes to Hydrolyzing, Alloy recommends the HPHD High Protein, High Digestibility system, here’s why:
Higher Protein in the meal: Due to short cycle times
Higher Digestibility Again due to short cycle times
Less Equipment Imagine being able to hydrolyze the feathers from 250,000 birds per day in one (1) Hydrolyzer!
Lower Cost per ton do more with less, Less Energy, Less Manpower, Less Equipment, Less Space
Enclosed process means significantly less odor in the facility and less load on the Odor Control System
Safer work environment as operators do not have to bleed down the pressure nor operate a discharge door.
The Alloy HPHD can increase your capacity while reducing your cost per ton all while producing the highest quality meal.
The sketches below show the simplicity of the Alloy HPHD.
The system begins with Mechanical Dewatering of the feathers and blood, cutting the mass to be processed nearly in half, and removing approximately 60% of the water. Next, we fill the batch hydrolyzer and hydrolyze the product. The total cycle time is 60 minutes. The process is to fill the hydrolyzer, build pressure, hold pressure, then use internal pressure to blow to Alloy's specially constructed Flash Chamber. In this process, we eliminate the bleed-down portion of the cycle reducing the cycle time and more importantly we improve the protein and maintain higher digestibility.
The result is Higher Protein Content with a better digestibility profile all within an enclosed system, reducing odors, creating a safer operator environment, and eliminating spills and leakage.

The Alloy Batch Hydrolyzer shares the same features found in our Batch Cooker:
Full 1" Inner shell
Dodge Shaft-mounted Drive
Dodge Double-Interlock Bearings
Mechanical Shaft Seals
Hardfaced Paddles
Round or Square Shaft Options
Alloy Batch Cookers were designed after years of servicing other brands with feedback from customers about the strengths and weaknesses.
Customers complained about the life of the inner-shell, Alloy addressed this with a full 1" inner-shell fitted with reinforcing rings, the combination of thicker materials and the reinforcing rings doubled the useful life of the inner-shell.
Customers were frustrated by the use of proprietary gearboxes and bearings requiring them to get parts from the OEM at elevated prices. When Alloy designed its cooker we chose Dodge brand drives and bearings making service parts
readily available from local suppliers.
Customers were tired of stuffing box and packing glands wearing the shaft out in the sealing areas years before the rest of the shaft was worn out, so Alloy designed Mechanical Seals to seal our cookers, eliminating this wear while providing superior sealing and virtually eliminating leakage.
Alloy Batch Cookers are available in 5x12, 5x14, 5x16 and 5x18 sizes with additional features to increase the throughput of Alloy Batch Cookers relative to other manufacturers.
Batch Hydrolyzer
HPHD Hydrolyzer Discharge utilizes a fully seated, pneumatically operated Knifegate Valve connected to stainless steel pipe to connect to the Alloy Flash Chamber receiving hydrolyzed product utilizing hydrolyzation pressure to transfer the materials within a minute in an enclosed system.
Receipt and transport of Feathers and Hair can present a challenge due to their tendency to "ball" creating a large mass of product making transport difficult. The Alloy RAW PRODUCT BIN is designed to simplify your process by use of rotating picker, fluffer shafts on the discharge which break-up the "balls" of product and discharge the product to a collecting conveyor in small portions for easy transport.
Raw Bin Discharge Pickers
The discharge of the Raw Product Bin is equipped with three (3) rotating picker shafts as seen above to separate the product into smaller portions of the product to ease transport of these products that can otherwise be problematic.
The flash chamber permits the vapors contained in the pressurized feathers to flash off into the chamber and separate from the product once the pressure is removed, without carrying the product with the vapors.
